# Week 13 : Multimedia Project Documentation

 http://www1.uwe.ac.uk/images/sustainability-document-folders.jpg

We're focusing on the project documentation this week.

There are a few reason why we really need to do the documentation part.

1. Reference for future changes if there is some problem occur on the development phase.

2.  Historical record for estimating duration and cost on future projects, activities, and tasks.

3. Input for further training and development of the project team

4. Input for performance evaluation by the functional managers of the project team members

There are 3 types of documentation include in this multimedia development which are:
  1. Planning/Design Document - how we plan it, the content, focus, storyboard, design, cost and time duration.
  2. Support Document - the documents that include in the courseware to help the user understand more on how to use the courseware
  3. Final Document- five important points which are introduction, group meeting, testing and evaluation, suggestion, improvement and members reflection

# Week 11 : Multimedia Courseware Evaluation

As what I told about evaluation before, it is about giving questionnaire to the user, they answer and rate for it.( this is just one of the methods )

So, today Mr Juhazren asks us to find for some example of evaluation form, specifically for a courseware. We are also have to define between the formative and summative evaluation.

So, I come out with this which this is clearly define.

And about the evaluation form, we realize that there are different groups of people included in the evluation, which are the developer (among us), the users (students and teachers) and the expert (either in design or the content presented).

The evaluation form questionnaires for the experts should be more depth and specific.

# Week 9 : Prototype Presentation

Last week was the most tired-mind week, where we have to work 24/7 just for the coursework.

Since i am not really good in flash ( i admit that ), I have to re-read all of the notes that I learn during my authoring class in last semester.

Hence the progression is a bit slow yet i am impressed with the commitment given from the two smart men in my group. Both are a kind father and really good in managing their time for family, job and study. Allah bless them.

So, this is the prototype of our group work, which we made it purposely for preschool students.

It is good to know that other groups are doing for several level of users. They are doing really great with the prototype. Hamdulillah. Excellent teachers we have here in UTM :)

So, they are coming with these topics for their courseware:

Group 2 - Water cycle
Group 3 - Hand tools
Group 4 - Hajj

Congratulation all!

# Week 8 : Testing and evaluating

Today, we learn about how important the testing and evaluating phase in developing a courseware.

Testing software for accessibility and usability will be needed at many stages in the lifecycle of a courseware.

However, the most effective time to test and evaluate a software product is during development, so that unnecessary barriers are not incorporated into a design.

As for me, this phase is really important and it really reflects our work. Either it is really prepared or vice versa. Either we are conscious enough with the needs of our users or not.

At the first time, I feel a bit puzzle on what is the differentiation of both testing and evaluating. Then after the class session, I come out with:

TESTING : running the courseware, checking on all of the navigations either it work or not, the usability

while

EVALUATING : is, we give some questionnaire, and the user answer and rate it

Anyway, let's gear up!!!
